Best Safety Practices and some Government Regulations recommend or require all commercial or industrial vehicles that require personnel to climb up on and down from the deck area to have access steps and handholds, that allow the user to have at least 3 limbs in contact with the vehicle while doing so. Utilicor offers a permanently affixed, steel ladder and handholds or supports, installed on the curbside of the vehicle forward on the deck, or at the rear corner of the deck, that generally comply with the essential elements of SAE J-185 “Access Systems for Construction and Industrial Equipment”.
