To minimize the possibility that the operator will drive off with the stabilizer(s) in contact with the ground or not fully retracted, this system employs specially designed proximity sensors to detect the position of the stabilizers and to signal that condition to the driver in the cab by means of a bright warning light (10 diode LED light that has the power 25 times greater then the standard light) prominently displayed on the instrument panel just inside the driver's door.
When the stabilizers are deployed or not fully retracted, the system automatically senses that condition and energizes the warning light in the cab, alerting the driver that the stabilizers are not retracted thereby reducing the potential for damage.
Excluding down-time, the cost to repair or replace a damaged stabilizer, including hydraulic cylinder, road pad and related bracketry could amount to as much as $1,000.
